Temple of Vesta 500 BC ? rebuilt 200 AD

Vesta Hestia Goddess of the Hearth, keeper of family homes and the Flame of Life. The Palladium statue of Athena Minerva was brought by Aeneas from Troy.
The remaining structure indicates there were 20 Corinthian columns built on a podium 15 meters in diameter. The roof had a vent at the apex to allow smoke release. Entry was to open to the East.
The pagan sacred flame was put out in 394 C.E. by Theodosius I.
