Do you have a loved one addicted to corporate media?

There is independent help available. [ SCODcast Audio Recording ]

This article is based on personal left-wing beliefs, supported by recent independent media Youtube channels. My primary premise for choosing channels that reflect my ethics are because it was impossible to find main-stream media support for the popular peace, civil rights, or environmental movements. Now that they are available, and even PBS and NPR are exposing their corporate bias, we have more options to get news and journalism and opinions which are better alternatives. My favorite daily ‘liberal’ media outlets are: Democracy Now!, Democracy At Work, The Ring of Fire, Kyle Kulinski, Humanist Report, Jimmy Dore, Kim Iverson, Redacted Tonight, The Real News, Joe Rogan, the Grayzone, Status Coup, and TYT (The Young Turks). TYT is one of the most influential networks, because they have funded many associates due to strong bold leadership from founder Cenk Uygur; who has also co-created ‘Justice Democrats’ (AOC and ‘The Squad’) and ‘Wolf Pack’ (get money out of politics). Some corporate shows (hosted by progressive liberal comedians like Cavett, Stewart, and Colbert) were able to entertain by pushing boundary issues in the name of getting laughs.

MSNBC, CNN, and other main-stream neo-liberal channels (stations) and newspapers are as saturated as Fox News by corporate propaganda at this point with their war on Bernie Sanders. They have always been centrist leaning for corporate wars, pollution, health-care, but on civil rights at least they were better than Fox; however now they are calling an anti-fascist leader a Nazi, which is obviously absurd. They are blatantly attacking the peace and environmental movements by speaking against our strongest leader. It is sad there is no main-stream outlet for a better future except for Bernie Sanders; but Sanders does represent the totality of liberal alternative visions for a stronger democracy and humanist America. Seeing them react so negatively when a civil rights leader becomes popular, exposes how serious they were about undermining leaders like Sanders from emerging in the first place. As Malcom-X said “The chickens have come home to roost.”

The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) central bank said (‘The Green Swan’ paper) that climate-related events could be the source of the next financial crisis. The increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather events could trigger non-linear and irreversible financial losses. In turn, the immediate and system-wide transition required to fight climate change could have far-reaching effects potentially affecting every single agent in the economy and every single asset price.

At Davos ‘Wall Street’ banks discussed how climate change alters the conversation around what economic growth can be, and how ‘policy-makers’ should pursue this end. “Debt, inequality and environmental damage are major issues for growth sustainability,” said economists at Deutsche Bank in a note last week. “However, one could argue that the first two are cyclical, whereas the third is potentially structural.” Deutsche Bank adds that, “The problem for the environmental lobby is that a world without economic growth may create a damaging backlash against such climate policies. Nevertheless, the problem with the status quo is that the irreversible damage to our planet will increase.”

Corporate media has been brain-washing most people to think the opposite of the populist reality however, and may help people to continue voting against their own interests for fake candidates that are always the lesser of two evils, rather than a legitimate candidate. It is worth noting that recently in elections their attempts backfire, and voters react by doing the opposite of what corporations want (2016 general and 2020 DNC Primary). The corporate DNC (Democrat Party National Committee) does not even need our over-paid top secret agencies to intervene for the establishment, because they steal the elections for corporations openly and legally in public, and with the help of commercial conditioning they even sway the popular vote. As a reminder to anyone who wants evidence of DNC rigging please reference the 2016 fallout: Jordan Chariton vs Donna Brazile, WV and MI voters chose Bernie unanimously and then voted for Trump, the Hillary Clinton email and DNC server scandal that revealed the rigging, and the DNC lawsuit where they basically stated on record “The DNC is allowed to make decisions that break its own rules, and we will do back-room deals anytime we want for the sake of our rich corporate donors”.

Corporate centrists argue “no reason to try things that will be defeated by republicans, because conservatives have all the power”, but the Obama message of “Yes we can!” is what leads and wins for populist causes (even though his policies were 1980s style republican according to Obama himself). Progress means pushing social boundaries, thus the name “progressive”. So it will be interesting to see how those the conservative corporate democrats (who think they are more practical) behave the more that Bernie wins. Is there a tipping point for many of them with money or social influence, if they have no personal integrity? How much corporate media addicts sell out to corporate interests is an interesting study. I think there is enough support for popular left ideas now to take over the DNC and replace the leaders, and those behind the times will either go to the republicans, as that party reforms after Trump, or get behind the civil rights movements our platform claims. The NEW GREEN DEAL is now a mainstream liberal political policy for implementation; if only corporate power can be checked.

There are a few things we can do to help those loved ones who cannot make the change for themselves, from corporate to independent parties or grassroots collective networks. The first thing is to play alternative forms of media for them; nice recordings of music they like, movies without commercials (Netflix), games, or local or online social groups. Next convince them to cancel their subscription to commercial cable TV and newspapers, at least for a trial period. Show them it is ok to let go of one habit, and replace it with a less destructive and more educational outlet. Finally show them you care by rewarding their cooperation with affection and gifts. Tell them over and over that they are not alone, and you love them.

Medicines Are Drugs

Posted in Ethics & Morals, Medical, news, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 8, 2019 by Drogo

Drug possession and health care are so related, drug possession it basically means medicine possession, albeit overdose abuse.often they are exactly the same. heroine is fundamentally linked to morphine in composition and use. pot is much more of a medicine than alcohol, but both are used as medicine by poor people. natives do not see a distinction, for spiritual reasons. ‘drug’ means illegal medicine usually, the health issue is usually about pain treatment and dependence on the substance, whether addicted or prescribed for persistent problems. regarding pill addiction, they really are usually prescribed medicines. medicines always have side effects and toxicity levels that can add up when used frequently.

In AA and medical practices people use one ‘drug’ substance to use as a crutch or addiction, to switch with the one they want to get off of. In the case of heroin and methadone they are almost the same strength from what users and social workers told me. In my college roommates’ case it was coffee in trade of cocaine. 3 homeless people i know were not homeless because they were drug addicts, because they had more serious problems in their lives like family relations and disorders; so i think the law enforcement part of the war on drugs is often not appropriate, and some law enforcement people are speaking out about martial law abuse now. Studying the results of the social programs would be interesting for sure, and how much force or legal threat is used to get them to do what is wanted by property owners.some medicines are safer than others for sure, as chemicals with toxic levels can vary.

Pot & Paranoia

Sometimes medicine reduces anxiety, and sometimes it can amplify it. Perception of which occurs is behavior based, but internal thoughts can differ from physical action. This is why philosophy or psychology can be used to guide the process of psychiatric alterations.

Incredible Hulk Psychology

Incredible_Hulk_Vol_1_273

This essay is from a SCOD video on the Marvel Hulk comic-books. Is the system working for you? Do you work for the system? Do you have a balance?? Dr. Banner worked within the nuclear science field, and was cursed with the alter-ego of the Hulk after a gamma-bomb test radiation accident. The main over-arching human theme of the ‘System vs Individuals’ originated because the military industrial complex created the Hulk, and Banner uses technology to handle his Hulk problem, but he is always chased by the military as a terrorist because the The Incredible Hulk was very aggressively anarchist libertarian (in effect by savage nature, not due to political ideology) due to his resistance to authority and desire to be left alone. In ‘Marvel: Five Fabulous Decades of the World’s Greatest Comics’Les Daniels addresses the Hulk as an embodiment of cultural fears of radiation and nuclear science. He quotes Jack Kirby: “As long as we’re experimenting with radioactivity, there’s no telling what may happen, or how much our advancements in science may cost us.” Daniels continues, “The Hulk became Marvel’s most disturbing embodiment of the perils inherent in the atomic age.”

The main character core theme for individual psychology is obviously anger (but also fear) as one part of the aggressive/passive dichotomy paradigm; because anger is the main catalyst for his change, and calmness allows the beast to sleep within him again. A third theme might be danger/safety (violence/gentleness), survival regardless of emotions. A fourth theme could be the stoic sadness of living with guilt and responsibility for problems. Humans are animals, but we seek to control our id, ego, and emotions for the sake of society and civilization. The Hulk deals with debates about man and monster, where does one personality end and the other begin??  Oddly enough, his rage doesn’t make him evil or the antagonist in the story. Can he be both a hero and an anti-hero?? Originally the Hulk transformed at night (1962), then randomly. It was not until after about the 30th comic book (1966) with Hulk in it [Tales To Astonish #80], that ANGER became his main catalyst for transformation. Hulk influenced popular culture so much, that the term ‘hulk out’ means to get enraged and rampage. “Don’t make me angry; you won’t like me when I’m angry.” – Dr. Banner (TV show)

Dr. Banner is a scientist dealing with some serious mental issues. As he evolves, so does his monstrous manifestation. The egos of the various incarnations exist within Banner, as Banner exists within them. The metaphor being that our different personality aspects and phases of life exist within us. Who we ‘really are’ does not have to be limited to just one personality, or set of emotional responses. I actually cannot think of a depiction that does not consider them within each-other as they are obviously connected, even if they are also beings in their individual ways.

The Jekyll-Hyde story is not just about literal appearance differences; also about mental disorders and addiction, physical (chemical) and mental bi-polar and border-line… all kinds of things to think about with split-personality concepts (not the diagnosis but the reality of how emotions can be overly intense with many people, making them seem like different people when they experience them).

AA Economics – SCOD Transition Systems

Posted in Economics, Philosophy, Psychology, Spiritual, Sustainability, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , on June 2, 2017 by Drogo

Religious vs. Business

Christian, AA, Buddhist vs Capitalist Business

Economics is a belief based philosophy that we can use psychology (behavioral) and accounting (math) to facilitate successful transactions of commerce. Some people want rational and peaceful economic systems in harmony with nature, and others want predatory ‘winner takes all’ systems as over-bearing master abusers. Before Marx wrote about communism and socialism, Christianity was founded on communal living and social services (similar to tribal Pagans). Christian social services are based on the concept that ‘giving is its own reward’ because God loves them, wants them to give without material or monetary benefit, and will reward them in the after-life for their sacrifice. AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) uses a Christian prohibitionist type of addiction therapy, run on member based donations and volunteer work. Buddhism has a similar charity concept that encourages vows of poverty and sacrifice.

Rather than predatory State Capitalism, or dogmatic Church Monarchy, we could change towards more moral humane systems. We can reward ‘givers’ more than ‘takers’. We need to be aware of the poor who give it all away, and the rich that take more than their fair share; because the system currently works in reverse. So we can develop a middle-ground between the two extremes of Religion and Business ideology. Communism clearly has the modesty of religious morality, and Socialism has the best aspects of trade & barter ethics. Clearly the best type of Capitalism (if it is to survive) will embrace egalitarianism for the majority of the population, that makes more property public and rewards those that give to others the most.

Predatory Capitalism is like an addiction, it is very hard to break a harmful habit if we feel we cannot stop ourselves from doing, even when it hurts ourselves and others more than it benefits them. Therefore perhaps a SCOD system of economic transition can be similar to AA, where we can admit we have a problem, and that by helping others we are solving the problem. Then we can begin apologizing to all those we could have given more to, when we only practiced Capitalism.

A spot light shines down on her punked-out mess of pink hair, and she begins yelling about how bad her life is, the kids are crying, and that her boyfriend is getting out of jail, and coming for her….

Flee steps out from the shadows, but remains as a large shadowed mass. As she is yelling, Flee reaches down and pinches the cigarette she holds in her mouth, and she does silent, then Flee yanks the beer from her. She yells “Hey!!!” Then the gate opens, and Flee returns to the shadows. Mother slowly walks in…

1. Admit we were powerless over addiction—that our lives were chaotic and destructive.

2. We are ready to accept help and to help ourselves heal.

3. We begin to develop control techniques over our addiction.

5. Admit to ourselves, and to others our own faults, and goals.

6. Address all our defects of character on a daily basis.

7. Humbly admit our addictions.

8. Make a list of all persons we have harmed, and be willing to make amends.

9. Use prayer or meditation to improve our consciousness, willpower, and dedication.

10. With these practices we gain more and more control over Addiction gradually.
