Hey You Guys (Green Rap) – AMM SCOD concept by Drogo, lyrics by Codiak, rapped by Codiak

HEY YOU GUYS

People please wake up, our planet we are killin’;

Polluting all our resources, nothing left for the children.

Please think of the native americans before us.

Show respect for the mountains, open plains, and the forests.

Man-kind extinction, that’s what we are facing.

We maintain our cell phones, but mother earth we are defacing.

There is no way to deny it, there are changes in our climate.

Warfare and shrapnel, we care more about gain capital,

than the reservation (resurrection) of our fragile planet.

(Drogo, they don’t hear me man! Wake em up!)

HEY YOU GUYS

Man-made chemicals, factories, vehicles; form death called smog.

Best believe we are breathing it all.

Children born with disabilities due to radiation in facilities.

Poisoned waters, West Virginia took it personal, I’m from there.

Nuclear bomb testing, gunned down while protesting.

This ignorance is persistent, mother earth needs our assistance.

Can’t stand by idly, there’s a fight brewing inside of me.

Elephants and rhinos getting murdered for their ivory.

Families misplaced, industries they replace THEM;

It’s all about the money, what about THEM?

Pipeline running through the MOUNTAINS.

Gator belts and shark skins.

Love comes from the heart AND soul.

Our young ones gotta know,

tickin’ time bomb, and the world about to blow….

world about to blow….

not a word about the blow….

word about the blow…

SUMMARY

Foreword by Dave Foreman (author of Eco Defense, Field Guide to Monkey-Wrenching, & Confessions of an Eco-Warrior) – Dave explains why Captain Paul Watson is his #1 eco-warrior hero.

Acknowledgments, contributors – Mother Earth, grey wolves, and many people.

No one will believe you. That is exactly as it is meant to be.” Salavi laughed. “But tell them anyway. Tell them once. Then tell them they have been told and leave.” – Vision of Salavi, Chichimeca story from ancient Mexico

Sun Tzu – Chinese Art of War

Miyamoto Musashi – Japanese Art of War, Five Rings

Marshall McLuhan – Canadian communications philosopher, 1911-1980, Media Theory

Author Paul Watson – born in 1950 in the Ontario Huron Lands, lived at sea as a youth, 1973 Lakota medic at Wounded Knee, 1970-1977 Greenpeace founding member, founded Sea Shepherd Conservation Society

Introduction – “The Environmental Movement is growing stronger.” Ask questions to get answers. “When do we fight?” This book is about environmental strategy, and strategy is a ‘martial discipline’. The objective of militant strategy in conflict is PEACE. The individual eco-warrior should strive to maintain various disciplines in harmony with Nature; sometimes by using modern technology and social media.

5 Path Foundation Strategy – Nature Elements – Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, and Quest (all have their own essential life meaning)

1 Earth – shallow or deep, no answers are truly fixed, firm, or final

2 Water – flows, quenches, adapts, change is a constant

3 Fire – fighting, combat, confrontation, train to attack

4 Wind – air we breathe, follow directions our life takes us, learn from the past, live in the present, live for the future

5 Quest – Vision World, this meaning of life is the experience of the journey (more than start or finish), live in ‘the now’ present by cultivating a spiritual nature that respects and combines the other four elements, because this is ‘with Nature’.

Mother Earth is the foundation: truth is relative, there are many realities, hold to your own way, evolve, and respect others

Bend like the Willow, Flow like Water, Focus but also stop to look around; be aware

Learn to appreciate some type of discipline. Realize the realities, patterns, and cycles of Nature: birth, life, death

6 Eco-Warrior Strategic Arts: Healing, Communication, Art, Infiltration, Activism, Spirituality

1 Healing – healers restore biological organisms or eco-systems

2 Communication – students and teachers ask and answer questions socially

3 Art – artists use imagination and creativity to bridge social gaps and create environmental architecture that involves all of the senses

4 Infiltration – infiltrators work within the corrupt system to affect changes best fitting for civilization and Nature

5 Activism – catalysts provoke and confront opponents of Nature, boldly, publically

6 Spirituality – shamans connect spirit and matter, intuition, empathy, magic, ritual, spells, prayers

4 Eco-Warrior Selfless Oaths

1 Respect ‘The Way’ of Eco-Warrior Elemental Arts

2 Serve Mother Earth

3 Respect the Children of the Earth

4 Evolve beyond personal ambition, for the greater good of Nature

Success or failure is less important than ‘seeing things through’ and following ‘The Way of the Eco-Warrior’.

Spiritual Foundation for Eco-Warriors – “An Eco-Warrior’s life is an eternal quest for wisdom, harmony, and understanding.” However cynicism results from not accepting that complete peace, knowledge, or success is not possible in reality during life. Eco-Warriors are scholars (using past knowledge), activists (using present actions), and dreamers (using future wisdom). Direct your passions, and manage your needs, addictions, thoughts, and actions. Take responsibility for your own life, and how you affect other beings, and realize your place in the World as much as possible.

Life Continuum – “Time flows like blood, through the veins of reality.” Life is energy, and energy cannot be created or destroyed, only harnessed, transferred, or dissipated. All Life, the Earth, and the Universe are inter-connected; objects and beings change into each-other over time, and are in many ways part of one-another. Anthropo-centric conventional life-styles lead to ecological disorders, value quantity over quality, and are a temporary fad that will self-destruct. Bio-centric people are interested in past ancestors, all present life, and the future of all those concerns.

Eco-Warrior Legal Code

Media Laws – media is corrupt, visuals are key, speak only to the point, be amiable, ask questions, seek answers

Ecology Laws – Interdependence, Biological Diversity, Finite Resources, Stewardship, Sacredness of Life

Eco-Guerrilla Activist Laws (1-10): Never get caught. Be silent. Leave no trace. Know a friend for 7 years, before you trust them as a partner. Train.

Preparations, Confrontation, Fighting without Fighting, Tactics, Earthforce, Stealth & Unpredictability, Maneuvering, Center Maintenance, Field Confrontation, Terrain & Situation, 9 Situations, Fire Attack, Intelligence Agents

Weapons of the Eco-Warrior – pen, sword, camera, charisma, and courage (the will to challenge)

Good Leader Types – Humanist, Honorable, Courteous, Clever, Responsible

Good Follower Types – Generous, Loyal, Respectful, Swift, Trustworthy

Lakota saying “Hoka hey” (it is a good day to die)

Live most days, as though they were your last; this will help prepare for victory and death. Do not burden your soul with unfinished business. Be loving and at peace as often as possible. The opinion of loved ones should matter the most, make sure you love those who deserve it. Fight despite fear. Minimize attacks, to save strength; use reconnaissance strategy, hit-and-run, spiking, monkey-wrenching; raids should have a strong leader. It is better to fight for what you want using politics, espionage, and other passive tactics, to win a victory before ever needing violence. Know when to fight, and when not to fight. Know yourself, and your enemy. Respect karma and resolve problems.

Ronald Reagan Interrogation Response Strategy: “I cannot remember anything about what you are asking. I have no recollection, I cannot recall. I was not aware of any wrong-doing.” If caught, use intentional and selective Amnesia.

36 Eco-Warrior Strategies: Invisibility, Big Brother, Friends, Rest & Weary, Use Weaknesses, Spread False Rumors, Create Ghost Illusions, Wizard of Oz (False Target), Survey & Salvage, Cloak & Dagger, Sacrifice, Resourcing, Pierce the Veil, Innovation & Imagination, General Wolfe, Patience, Trade Glass for Diamonds, Target the Leader, Water on Powder, Harness Chaos, Shed Shell, Keep Locks, Watch Others, Enemy of My Enemy, Convert Enemy Ranks, Remember the Enemy, Appear Ignorant, Appear Weak, Manipulate by Lure, Create Legends, Guest to Host, Beauty Beast, Harness Double Agents, Create Double Agents, Orbit Circles, Retreat is not Defeat.

After words, bibliography, index – Author Captain Paul Watson invites correspondence with his mailing address (1993).

Tornado Architecture

BUILD UNDERGROUND!!!

As an architect, this has been my consistent advice for all people living within tornado areas. Sure underground construction costs a few thousand more than most crappy track houses, but it is worth it when you know that having a normal house makes you an easy target for the common natural disasters that occur in that area. Government (State or Federal) should get with it, and supply financial incentives to get most homes underground now! There is no reason to wait. If you want to keep your house and most things in your house safe, you need an underground house; not just a separate storm shelter or basement.

I would never live in an area that has tornadoes without living in an underground house, if I had any money or respect for life at all.

Thujone Magic

Posted in Nature Studies, Pagan with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 29, 2011 by Drogo

Thujone is an active ingredient in Sage, Wormwood, Mugwort, Yarrow, Tansy, Oregano, Juniper, Cypress, Mint, and Arborvitae (genus Thuja). Thujone has a molecular shape similar to THC but is much milder. Thujone can build up in the body and there are reports of overdose convulsions, or insomnia after months. It does promote vivid dreams. As a GABA neuron regulator inhibitor in our nervous system, it has immune-system stimulating effects and as a 5-HT antagonist it may be used to treat irritable bowel syndrome. By causing neurons to fire more, it may have an inspirational effect. Mugwort pillows are supposed to bring pleasant dreams, perhaps from small airborne particles of thujone. Thujone has a fresh odor like menthol, with an acidic tea taste. Even though it is best known as a chemical compound in the spirit absinthe, recent tests show absinthe contains only small quantities of thujone, and may or may not be responsible for absinthe’s reported psychedelic effects.

CAUTION:

Those with allergy to pollen may have an allergic reaction; additionally there is some evidence that it somehow over-stimulates the uterus in pregnant women which can lead to abortion. Testing is not conclusive yet. Mugwort is completely FREE and LEGAL and not lethally toxic or poisonous (with possible exception of fetuses). But, to be safe, women should not use mugwort while pregnant.

SCOD Update April 22, 2011

The BP Oil Spill from last summer is still affecting the Mexican Gulf areas of the South. Japan has been devastated by earthquakes, tsunamis, and nuclear melt-downs. We are now at War in Libya, besides still being invested in Iraq and Afghanistan. It was a cold Winter in the Washington DC area, but not as much snow as the last Winter.

Cordite makes swords in Wisconsin, Sima Ke makes honey in New York, and Sir Jeffy and Elldinn raise children where they are. Our SCOD Blog has earned 365 gallons of clean water donated to World Communities in Need. And finally some garden plants have returned that were not expected to, and others have not survived.

Despite mixed news of success and setbacks, SCOD has just now produced its first professionally published book “SCOD 2000”. Blessed be. – Drogo

Environmental Video Games

Posted in Education / Schools, Environmentalism with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on March 11, 2011 by Drogo

Although most electricity used to run computers still comes from Fossil Fuel Combustion, there are some electronic games that may help to build a more sustainable future and switch to more renewable tools. If we are going to be on the computers already, smart education through fun game play can help plan a better future. The best of these games are those that make you feel better after you have played them, and even better when you are not playing them because you are not using Fossil Fuels.

Video games are often a reflection of Society’s politics (social studies) and Culture’s history (customs & wars). That people want to understand what is systemic through simulations is not a bad thing. What crosses the line is when people perpetuate actual murders; which whether in defense of the system or against it, is still part of Society and Culture. The violent drug addict and the drone operator, or the gangster and the soldier can be the same person, one disgracefully illegal and one honorably legal. Laws often ignore the inherent dichotomy, and public dialog largely ignores the terror within.

Pollution Poem (Part 1: Generator of Waste)

[Redneck Voice:]

I don’t care about the earth and the land

Food aint shit, it comes from a can.

I hate the sky, cause Im only gonna die.

Life is lived, only through I.

I poison the water, don’t even think

Cuz poison is all that i drink.

[Robot Voice:]

GENERATOR OF WASTE

REMOVES MOUNTAINS OF ROCK

MAKES MOUNTAINS OF TRASH

ALL THINGS FOR THE CLOCK

FLESH BAGS,

MAKE FLESH BAGS

FILL PLASTIC BAGS

Pollution Poem (Part 2: Legacy of Trash)

[Redneck Voice:]

It’s man vs nature,

Survival of the fittest

Volcanoes, earthquakes, tornadoes, and floods

What can one man do to change the world?

If China don’t do it, I shouldn’t even try.

I wage wars to reduce you to ash

My Legacy is weighed by the ton of my trash

[Robot Voice:]

MORTAL REFUSE

INHERIT

MORTAL REFUSE

Pollution Poem (Part 3: Everyday Is Earthday)

For people like me

Earthday is a joke!

All you fuckin hippies

I hope you choke!

Fish and Frogs

with 3 gen-i-tools?

In waters named

after dead Native fools?

They shall all be tamed,

Hippies

Hippies

Hippies are people too. Sometimes we forget because the hippie movement fell out of favor only a decade after it began. Why? Because hippies were different, hippies are made fun of, and often financially powerless because by definition they gave up desire for those social and political constructs and aspirations. Also it is popular to say they “stink” because they often smell different due to bathing and patchouli practices. It is popular to make fun of astrology, and “new age” alchemical spiritual beliefs. It is the natural tendency to make fun of people that are different than normal standards, by birth or by choice, and to be biased against them.

So “hippy” has become a derogatory label.  There was a decade when many believed and felt they were part of larger revolution, and not just a fashion taboo. Others will always believe that their idealism was flawed, and they were always just criminal bums. Those people are usually called different names by those they call hippies, to be fair.

The popular Hippie Movement during the 1960s, had evolved from the 1950s counter-culture of hipster beatniks, and embraced a revolutionary return to naturalist folk traditions. Peace was a major motivating factor for many people to become a hippy. Environmentalism, drug use, and alternative lifestyle freedoms were also very dominant aspects of the movement.

The peace symbol was developed in the UK as a logo for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, and was embraced by U.S. anti-war protestors during the 1960s. Originally the “V” finger sign stood for Victory (a return to peace) in WWII, but ironically was adopted by hippies to remind people about the joys of peace. Hippies were mostly pacifists and many participated in non-violent political protests, such as marches and demonstrations for civil rights, liberties, and peace.

The degree of political involvement varied widely among hippies, from those who were active in non-violent demonstrations, to the more anti-authority street aggression of the Yippies (the most politically active hippie sub-group). The active yippy political rebels led to underground resistance groups like “The Weathermen”, and often operated violently as anarchists. Pacifist hippies tend to disagree with hateful tactics.

The Hippie Movement continues to the present day, but began to decline in the 1970s with the emergence of new popular movements like Disco, and later was rejected by Hip-hop breakdance, Goth, Punk, and Yuppism in the 1980s under the hyper-inflation of Reaganomics. The economic bubble of the 1980s (which revived the 1950s industrial enthusiasm) had a lot to do with the cultural supremacy of Cocaine.

The multi-culturalism of the 1990s was a peaceful integration of many colorful hippy values like celebrating ethnic diversity and environmentalism, with modern technology and the enthusiasm of the commercial 1980s. Improvements in transportation allowed these benefits of travel, including the popularity of tattoos. However, this positive zeitgeist was smothered by the Military Industrial Complex under Bush II.

The Five Elements

The Five Elements: The Four Elements of Nature and Akasha

Introducing and Explaining the Four Elements of Nature and their alternative names, sub-categories, and how the “magic” theory is directly applicable to modern technology and civilization. Akasha or Spirit is considered both Natural and Supernatural, as it exists as energy in the material world, but also transcends it to the ‘Other World’.

The four Elements are aspects of Nature, but also a connection to the spirit world through Akasha aether. The 4 elements widely accepted by Celtic Wiccan and other polytheist Pagan spiritual paths are: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. These four elements are represented by an equal cross (Celtic Cross) often in conjunction with the cardinal directions, with the Akasha circle border around the cross being the 5th all encompassing element that binds them all together, and from which they come (according to Hindu). In ancient Native American culture this was the Earth-Sun Cross (Medieval Mississippian). The fifth element is shown in diagram when using a pentagram, to include Spirit. Fire’s place on the pentagram is often the lower right point (Tao upper right).

Passive and Active Uses for
1. Air / Gases = Windmills / Ozone
2. Fire / Heat = Panels / Absorption
3. Water / Liquid = Turbine / Hydration
4. Earth / Geology = Wood / Thermal
5. Spirit / Human = Synthesis / Application – AKASHA

Super-natural Magic or Natural common sense?  The Truth is Akasha is both.
