Turn Back Time In Your Mind

Posted in Poems, Poems, Rhymes, Riddles, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , on June 23, 2018 by Drogo

You can turn back time,

the kind that’s in your mind;

remember back to when you were happy,

loving nostalgia is not just sappy.

feel the feelings, desire the emotion

memory is like a magic potion

find how the actions affect your mind

relive the experience in your own time.

Walk down the steps in the sunshine

sleep in the hammock under the pine

sit on the dock in the moonlight

meditate until your mind feels right.

Nostalgia Is What It Used To Be

Nostalgia hits me hard often, but it is not just melancholy; my nostalgia an odd mix of ecstatic joy, understanding bliss, profound sadness, and contentment. These intense feelings sometimes become tears. Some may view my weeping as weakness, but honestly I am experiencing powerful life conclusions akin to one’s life flashing before their eyes during a near death experience, lessons from the lives of others, and countless other thoughts that surprise me like lights or sounds at the ‘end of tunnels.

Present Feeling of Historic Nobility

It is precisely the feeling of nobility that I have when I wield one of my swords that makes it a special feeling.  In part, it is remembrance to a day gone by, days that many people have forgotten when life was free and real.  The days when people were more connected to Earth, to Nature.  A day when the world was raw and beautiful.  Impractical in today’s the world, the sword is my instant connection to a different time.  A time far less complex than the world today.
