Bernie Drops Out of Presidential Race 2020

So this leaves many of us wondering why during a crisis where Sanders policies (UHC, GND, & taxing billionaires) would be perfect (if combined with Yang’s UBI & Tulsi’s questioning the MIC), would the DNC want to serve their corporate donors without question with their chosen representative of elders with dementia (Biden)? Trump may benefit corporations on both sides so much, the DNC wants Trump another term because that is what their corporate donors want, idk. either that or they are idiots, i guess this is how most people allow fascism to happen. i still prefer our commercial brand to Nazi nationalism, but the ease that people want martial law over covid adds to my concerns that pollution will get worse with less protest, since Trump removed all EPA restrictions indefinitely. The one legal victory in months has been a federal judge wanting the Dakota Pipeline scandal investigated. Once again the only time we get some of our tax money paid back to us directly is under a Republican president; which I consider a bribe against public protests for all their terrible crimes. Im confused on the election and covid, regarding what others are thinking; but luckily my life is the same so i can keep working on my projects. Sometimes opponents are paid to lose in one way or another, made easier if they both get along enough to agree to the same system of rigged rules. if i am sad and mad, it has not helped that i need to pay 4,000 in car repairs; without a living wage as usual. – Drogo

Covid Crisis Cover for Poisoning

Posted in Artificial Chemical Products, biology, Commercial Corporations, Critical Commentary of Civilization, Ethics & Morals, news, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , on March 29, 2020 by Drogo

The COVID Virus pandemic outbreak and quarantine period is exciting because it is exposing and increasing related economic and social issues that were under corporate media radar. Yes the Covid virus is real and dangerous and has plenty of attention with statistics, but corporate corruption is real too. Environmental pollution is not just a conspiracy theory, it is quite often a result of actual corporate conspiracies. In this case industrial companies wrote to Trump begging to be allowed to pollute more, and so he complied by shutting down the EPA, rather than giving the EPA proper hazmat suits for inspections.

“The EPA has been under pressure from a number of industries, including the oil industry, to suspend enforcement of a number of environmental regulations due to the pandemic. In a 10-page letter to EPA earlier this week, the American Petroleum Institute (API) asked for a suspension of rules that require repairing leaky equipment as well as monitoring to make sure pollution doesn’t seep into nearby water. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a sweeping suspension of its enforcement of environmental laws Thursday, telling companies they would not need to meet environmental standards during the corona-virus outbreak. The temporary policy, for which EPA has set no end date, would allow any number of industries to skirt environmental laws, with the agency saying it will not “seek penalties for noncompliance with routine monitoring and reporting obligations.”” – The Hill

“The Environmental Protection Agency is planning to waive compliance requirements and deadlines for a range of industries, including oil refiners, water utilities and sewage plants, as it seeks to help businesses affected by the coronavirus pandemic, according to Trump administration officials.” – March 24, 2020 Wall Street Journal

Oil Companies will be poisoning more [Article].

Coal Companies will be poisoning more [Article].

And many other companies like Dupont and Monsanto will have more lawsuits against them for poisoning us with their chemicals.

The are also several recent books and films made about these issues [‘The Devil We Know‘, ‘Dark Waters‘, ‘Conspiracy of Fools‘]

The point being an emergency like this is time to gear up with hazmat suits for inspections, not give them a free pass to poison us. Trump is worse than other corporate politicians, but they have given similar passes before. Let us hope this is the climax for the worst, and let us take responsibility by increasing democracy and regulations that protect us.

Davos & The Green Swan 2020

2020 Summary of a ‘Yahoo Finance’ article about the next crash

The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) central bank said in a paper titled “The Green Swan” that climate-related events could be the source of the next financial crisis. The increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather events could trigger non-linear and irreversible financial losses. In turn, the immediate and system-wide transition required to fight climate change could have far-reaching effects potentially affecting every single agent in the economy and every single asset price.

In last week’s run-up to Davos, at least two Wall Street banks chimed in on how climate change alters the conversation around what economic growth can be and how policymakers should pursue this end. “Debt, inequality and environmental damage are major issues for growth sustainability,” said economists at Deutsche Bank in a note last week. “However, one could argue that the first two are cyclical whereas the third is potentially structural.” Deutsche Bank adds that, “The problem for the environmental lobby is that a world without economic growth may create a damaging backlash against such climate policies. Nevertheless, the problem with the status quo is that the irreversible damage to our planet will increase.”

On the one hand, modern civilization is screwed. On the other hand, modern civilization is screwed.

Science As Process

Scientific Sustainable Issues

I trust people who are dedicated to provable facts, and able to negotiate about debates on what constitutes “evidence”. Environmental data is debated by those scientists highly educated while it is gathered and for years afterwards in universities that are socially liberal but academically conservative; which is a reflection of conventional society and group societies and trade organizations. There will always be the fringes that ask questions, and push limits. i side with scientific consensus, regardless of corporate propaganda (probably just because i have never been bribed enough), but i always remember that minority questions can change the course of scientific progress on issues. Human philosophical rationality can be used to determine all scientific or factual conclusions, for example to determine what defines pollution and how much pollution is allowable in a given area; and those conclusions will change to adapt to the data.

2 Climate Change Theories

Scientific vs Corporate

The main climate change theory i will call the Scientific Climate Theory presented by the majority of scientists is that artificial CO2 and other man-made (in addition to natural) factors are primarily contributing to overall global warming, which causes climate change in various ways, sometimes temporarily cooling during warm seasons (which seems like a contradiction but is not because the overall trend is warming according to annual temperature averages). This consensus in Science is supported primarily by Centrist Left Wing and Radical Liberals politically, who believe that the time for debate is over and it should not be a political issue because it is true and not just an opinion.

The minority climate change theory i will call the Corporate Climate Theory, supported by extreme skeptics of science and government (deniers), is that environmentalists are lying about the data evidence to hide that most of it is naturally either being caused by Solar irregularities or Geo-tectonic magnetic seismic shifts and volcanic activity or both. This is the side that defends those totally uninterested or ignorant in climate science as well, who doubt there are any problems with pollution that can affect global conditions. One of the issues they bring up is that storm flooding (cold) and (heat) droughts are opposites, and should not both be results of global warming. This proposed paradox does not take into account the melting of the polar ice which raises sea level, and the chaos that can result from this regarding flooding and more severe storms, freak cooling periods in some areas, but overall prolonged intense heating of the global atmosphere. Minor theories are usually supported by Radical Right Wing Conservatives and Libertarians (Corporate Centrists tend to pay lip service and not want any action on it), who believe no one should interfere in the rights of corporations to pollute, and are currently dismantling the EPA, NPS, and other branches of the government under Trump.

So to summarize, both agree that there will be more severe climate chaos like weather that is out of season. The Scientific Climate Theory says that artificially caused CO2 pollution from industry and agriculture is mainly to blame, as it can clearly be shown to increase during the Industrial Age of civilization, and not anytime in human history before this. It does have some similarities to pre-historic massive volcanic periods, but other chemical evidence and current factors rule out volcanoes as the main cause in CO2 levels currently. The most extreme Corporate Climate Theory is our government is lying to us to hide that our Sun is growing closer or more intense; which can be debunked by talking to actual scientists who observe the Sun independent of the government, and that it would make no sense for the branches of the government like the EPA or NPS or Pentagon to give false support for environmentalists, because most of the government is controlled by Corporate interests, and they do not benefit by belief in environmentalism. Corporate Green-washing is not what interests people who care about quality of life for all animals and humans, nor the military who takes the threats of Climate Change seriously due to the causes of wars that are tied to natural conditions like resources, property, shelter, and all the economics related to environmental issues. The money being made by Scientists or environmentalists currently, still pales compared to the profits of fossil fuel polluters, so the theory of profit motive causing scientists to lie about climate data is bunk as well. The debate is over for rational thinkers, but the corporate socialism vs democratic socialism debate is just beginning for a world run and terrorized by capitalists.

Hey You Guys (Green Rap) – AMM SCOD concept by Drogo, lyrics by Codiak, rapped by Codiak

People please wake up, our planet we are killin’;

Polluting all our resources, nothing left for the children.

Please think of the native americans before us.

Show respect for the mountains, open plains, and the forests.

Man-kind extinction, that’s what we are facing.

We maintain our cell phones, but mother earth we are defacing.

There is no way to deny it, there are changes in our climate.

Warfare and shrapnel, we care more about gain capital,

than the reservation (resurrection) of our fragile planet.

(Drogo, they don’t hear me man! Wake em up!)

Man-made chemicals, factories, vehicles; form death called smog.

Best believe we are breathing it all.

Children born with disabilities due to radiation in facilities.

Poisoned waters, West Virginia took it personal, I’m from there.

Nuclear bomb testing, gunned down while protesting.

This ignorance is persistent, mother earth needs our assistance.

Can’t stand by idly, there’s a fight brewing inside of me.

Elephants and rhinos getting murdered for their ivory.

Families misplaced, industries they replace THEM;

It’s all about the money, what about THEM?

Pipeline running through the MOUNTAINS.

Gator belts and shark skins.

Love comes from the heart AND soul.

Our young ones gotta know,

tickin’ time bomb, and the world about to blow….

world about to blow….

not a word about the blow….

word about the blow…

Environmental Video Games

Although most electricity used to run computers still comes from Fossil Fuel Combustion, there are some electronic games that may help to build a more sustainable future and switch to more renewable tools. If we are going to be on the computers already, smart education through fun game play can help plan a better future. The best of these games are those that make you feel better after you have played them, and even better when you are not playing them because you are not using Fossil Fuels.

Video games are often a reflection of Society’s politics (social studies) and Culture’s history (customs & wars). That people want to understand what is systemic through simulations is not a bad thing. What crosses the line is when people perpetuate actual murders; which whether in defense of the system or against it, is still part of Society and Culture. The violent drug addict and the drone operator, or the gangster and the soldier can be the same person, one disgracefully illegal and one honorably legal. Laws often ignore the inherent dichotomy, and public dialog largely ignores the terror within.

There are not many Republicans who fight against pollution, but here is one that is now a hero of mine. Billy Nungesser is a no-holds-barred fighter for the environment of his community in Louisiana. He is an innovative self-made business man that has stood up against BP, the US Coast Guard, and the US Federal Government in order to defend his area against the Gulf Coast Oil Spill.

Mushrooms Vs. Oil Spills

Oyster mushrooms, Pleurotus ostreatus, eat Petroleum Oil.

Hair mats and other absorbent buffers deployed to clean up oil spills from water and land, can be gathered and cleaned as a growing base for Oyster Mushrooms. Not only do Oyster Mushrooms digest and grow from crude oil, but they also break it down so that the oil is not present in their bodies and can be left in the environment or even eaten. Links? Help do some research on this topic, hell we have Google (BP I’m talking to you idiots).

The 2010 Great American Oil Spill

BP Offshore Oil Spill Along US Gulf Coast in 2010
Southcoast BP Oil Spill of 2010

Hundreds of thousands of gallons of Crude Oil have poured into the Gulf of Mexico, every day, for days now. The Oil is gushing from a well 5,000 feet underwater. An explosion and fire on a drilling rig on April 20, 2010; left 11 workers missing and presumed dead. The rig sank two days later about 50 miles off the Louisiana coast. Immediate States Affected: Louisiana, Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, and Texas (basically the Southern Coastline).

The oil slick was 16 miles offshore the Mississippi River Delta, the marshlands at Louisiana where the river empties into the ocean. The Coast Guard and Navy aided BP with 100,000 feet of protective booms have been laid down to protect the shoreline, with 500,000 feet more standing by. Two Air Force C-130 Hercules planes have been sent to Mississippi and were awaiting orders to start dumping chemicals on the oil spill in the water.

Coast Guard Admiral Landry said a scientist from NOAA (the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) had concluded that oil is leaking at the rate of 5,000-25,000 barrels a day, not 1,000 as had first been estimated. At a rate of 210,000 gallons a day, many species are already suffering and worse is expected as the massive environmental disaster barrels toward the Gulf states. Migrating birds, nesting pelicans, river otters and mink along Louisiana’s fragile islands and barrier marshes are all endangered.

Wind patterns pushed the spill into the Louisiana Coast, prompting consideration of more urgent measures to protect coastal wildlife. Among them were using cannons to scare off birds and employing local shrimpers’ boats as makeshift oil skimmers in the shallows. As the vast oil slick spread across the Gulf, driven by winds and currents from the site of the leak, fishermen in coastal towns feared for their businesses and the White House stepped up its response to the worsening situation.

Cleanup crews began conducting what is called an in-situ burn, a process that consists of corralling oil in a 500-foot-long boom, and burning it. Burns will not be effective for most of this spill. 97 percent of the spill is estimated to be an oil-water mixture.

Last week, Forbes magazine published what the top U.S. corporations paid in taxes last year. “Most egregious,” Forbes notes, is General Electric, which “generated $10.3 billion in pretax income, but ended up owing nothing to Uncle Sam. In fact, it recorded a tax benefit of $1.1 billion.” Big Oil giant Exxon Mobil, which last year reported a record $45.2 billion profit, paid the most taxes of any corporation, but none of it went to the IRS.

Exxon tries to limit the tax pain with the help of 20 wholly owned subsidiaries domiciled in the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands that (legally) shelter the cash flow from operations in the likes of Angola, Azerbaijan and Abu Dhabi. Of $15 billion in income taxes last year, Exxon paid none of it to Uncle Sam, and has tens of billions in earnings permanently reinvested overseas.

President Obama ordered a freeze on new offshore drilling leases until a review of the oil rig accident that caused the spill could be concluded, and new safeguards put in place.

“I continue to believe that domestic oil production is an important part of our overall strategy for energy security,” Mr. Obama said on Friday, addressing concerns about whether the administration would continue with its plan to increase drilling in the Gulf.

Even so, he said, “the local economies and livelihoods of the people of the Gulf Coast as well as the ecology of the region are at stake.”

Mr. Obama, speaking in the Rose Garden of the White House, said he had dispatched two Cabinet secretaries to the region to assess the damage. He ordered Secretary Salazar to report within 30 days on what new safeguards were needed to prevent future oil spills.

It is a bad year already for fossil fuels, as this follows the WV Coal Mine Explosion and Collapse that killed 29. The odor of Oil has already extended inland, and Federal warnings for respiratory conditions have begun. It will be many years before clean-up will be finished. So long as we are using Crude Oil to the extent that we are, we are all fucked. But I would rather be fucked by Oil pumped at home, rather than going to new Wars for it in the Middle East and other places abroad, in addition to spills like this. We don’t need any more Wars over this shit, when we have so many other energy sources.

* In August 2010 the Well leak was killed, with a final total of 4.9 million barrels having leaked into the Mexican Gulf

2003 BP Solarex Tour

The BP Solarex Facility SCOD Tour in Frederick,  MD

November 2003 – These are my SCOD notes I took after organizing a SCOD tour.

Jefferson County, WV residents toured the BP Solarex facility in Frederick, Maryland. In attendance were John Henry Dale, Michael Shor, and Walton Stowell Jr. & Sr.. The following information is based on notes taken during the tour and official Solarex publications. Special thanks to Public Relations representative Debby Burgon. They did not allow photographs inside.

Although Solarex is now owned by British Petroleum, the Solarex plant was owned by Amoco & Enron in the 1980’s.  Now BP Solar boasts that their “Projects Group designed and supplied over 50,000 systems (totaling 70MW) and managed over 25,000 installations (nearly 15MW).”, and “completed installations in more than 150 countries (a record unmatched by any other company in the industry)”.

First on the tour was the Casting Room and the Sizing Room.  Michael asked what Silicon cost per # . The ‘crystalline operations’ and ‘tech center’ contained blocks of ingot, crystalex controllers, and a large cutting room  1=> 25 bricks / casting station vats.  An ‘ingot crusher’ machine cranked away as a loud speaker echoed in the docking bay.  Terms such as ‘silicon powder’ and ‘top-cut’ were discussed and cylinders were cleaned with corrosive chemical bath.  Next was the ‘hot form block melting room’.

The ‘wafer cutting room’ contained many purple, pink, orange ear plugs; white suits, grey slop gloves goo, and blue slippers.  This is where ‘template calibration’ for the solar cells took place also.

Next an Airlock leads into a blue floor, where wafer separation, cleaning, and setting begin.  Automated cleaning and etching stations occurred in glass tanks.  (SiN) Silicon Nitride  240 microns = 3-4 sheets thickness.  A violet / dark blue wafer coating with “silver paste” was then baked in aluminum.  These would go to a drying furnace in front and back lines with automated tooling systems.

multi- & mono- solar cells  (multi-cells are darker, absorb more sun, more efficient)  “silicon is dangerous”

A large final room housed machine plates that mounted bar stripes (bus bar) with tabbing ribbons, and negative / positive copper wire with silver coating.  Then there were assembly-soldering operations for the complete solar panels; which were then laminated, and ‘cassettes’ were loaded into a matrix machine with roller knobs.  Contained in soldered back-matting is dios wiring and label black caulking buettle. Current / voltage testing / reading SPI sun Simulator BP 380U. The panels are cleaned, flashed, and boxed in argon @ 23.8 degrees.  NRE National Renewable Energy

The cost of a solar system is directly proportional to how much energy you require.  Small cabin systems start at a few 1000 dollars.  A typical household system could cost anywhere from $10,000 to $40,000. “Clean Power Estimator” = evaluates $ saved contact section to discuss design with a distributor. Array combo – Inverter – Utility kw/h meter.

Currently prices are still not economically feasible or comparable with grid power in most states. Illinois has a very limited subsidy program for homeowner, like in Japan and Germany. Skylight connector modules have (leads) silicon-nitride covering over wafers.

Some questions remain:

“What percentage of energy used to produce solar panels in the plant, is provided by solar energy?”

“Why is taking so long to open more plants?” and “Why do you now have a barbed wire fence?”

“Why did you cut over half of your workforce in 2010?” (update)
